Value Engineering
In addition to co-authoring the original U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency value engineering and procedures manual,
we have been the Value Engineering Team Coordinator or
a Value Engineering team member on more than 20 water
and wastewater projects throughout the United States ranging
in cost from $3 million to $600 million for cities ranging
from Kodiak, Alaska to New York City.
Water and Wastewater Treatment Process Evaluation
We provide consultation on the pilot testing and design
of treatment processes as well as troubleshooting operational
problems in existing treatment plants. We have authored
or co-authored three books on processes for water treatment,
two on wastewater treatment, one on sludge handling and
one on water reuse.
Advanced Wastewater Treatment
We have experience from several advanced wastewater treatment
projects including projects involving discharge to a reservoir
used as a potable raw water supply, reuse of municipal
effluent in a paper mill, removal of nitrogen and phosphorus
to protect receiving water quality, and creation of a
lake for recreational body-contact use. We have co-authored
two books on the subject.
Regional Water Supply and Wastewater Planning
We conduct regional studies to define long-term plans
for meeting the water and wastewater needs of the regions
as well as facilitating multi-agency work groups to assist
them in making regional decisions on water and wastewater
issues.
