Organizational and Management Assessments
We provide reviews of the management, organization and
performance of water, wastewater utilities, public works
agencies and private consulting engineering firms to develop
recommendations for improved results. We have worked with
public agencies and engineering firms ranging in size
from 50 staff to 3,000 staff for clients such as San Diego,
Sacramento, Spokane County and Metropolitan Denver Wastewater
Reclamation District.
Capital Improvement Program (CIP) Assessments
We conduct assessments of CIP programs including the benchmarking
of effectiveness relative to CIP programs of similar agencies.
We have provided recommendations for streamlining the
programs and improving them so that they better serve
the end users and stakeholders for clients such as Sacramento
and Phoenix.
Operation and Maintenance Reviews
We conducted reviews of the operating procedures, staffing,
operating cost and organizational effectiveness for more
than 15 water distribution/treatment and wastewater collection/treatment
systems in locations as diverse as Honolulu and Boston
and for systems ranging in capacity from 5 million gallons
per day to 1 billion gallons per day.
Strategic Planning
We facilitate the strategic planning process for water
and wastewater utilities and private organizations. We
have also been involved in the implementation and monitoring
of strategic plans.
Facilitation
We facilitate regional public infrastructure planning
processes involving citizen advisory committees, agency
staff steering committees, task forces, expert panels,
public meetings, elected board meetings and stakeholder
involvement. We also provide project partnering facilitation
on design and construction projects.
